
Dr Monareng is a kind and passionate orthopaedic surgeon with a practice at Netcare Unitas hospital. Born and raised in Pretoria, completed his high schooling at Pretoria Boys High school. Prior to undertaking his medical training, he completed a national higher diploma in digital electronics and computer programming, while work as a bank teller.
With a childhood dream of becoming a doctor. He later embarked on his medical training to complete his medical degree (MBChB) with the then University of Limpopo (Medunsa). Followed by two years on internship at Kalafong hospital (Attridgeville) and community service at Leratong hospital (Krugersdorp). This was followed by 3 years as a medical officer in orthopaedics between three hospitals (Tembisa, Witbank and Steve Biko), before embarking on his specialist training.
He completed his specialist training through the university of Pretoria, obtaining his master’s degree in medicine and completing the requirements for the college of medicine of South Africa (CMSA). Enabling him to register as an orthopaedic surgeon (Health Professions Counsel of South Africa).
He has a keen interest in orthopaedic trauma, arthroscopy and arthroplasty. And is affiliated to the following societies: The south African orthopaedic association (SAOA), the AO foundation (AO), the American academy of orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the European society of sports traumatology knee surgery and arthroscopy (ESSKA).
